What does a future without freedom look like?

Sold not only once, but twice. Forced to marry one man, then sold again to another. At only 16 years old, Ellie became his slave for life.

Abused and desperate, she ran. For five days she hid in the African bush, hoping they wouldn't find her and cut her (perform Female Genital Mutilation). When she had no idea where to turn for help, a local pastor heard about her and was able to bring her to safety. He reached out to our local partners in Kenya, and within a few days we were able to welcome her into our care on September 1, 2022.

After rescue, we immediately provided Ellie with medical care, new clothes, and therapy. She is now in school and has been twice awarded the most improved. Her healing journey has only begun, but now her future is one of freedom.

Before rescue, her childhood was stolen, her future in pieces.

But now, because of people like you, we will restore what was lost and heal what was broken.
