JUST1 INTERNATIONAL PRESENTS:
GUARDIANS
Do you feel out of the loop when it comes to what kids are experiencing online?
As a parent or guardian, have you ever felt unsure of when it’s safe to allow your child to have a smartphone and use social media?
Have you wondered if you should be checking their messages?
Or as a youth leader, teacher or pastor, have you wondered what you can do to help protect the youth you lead?
Whether you’re a parent, a legal guardian, a youth leader or just a concerned adult, we are all responsible to stand guard and utilize every tool we have to protect the children in our lives and help them safely navigate the world we live in.
100,000: minors are being trafficked in the U.S
1 in 10: children are sexually abused before turning 18
90% of teens: encountered sexual content online in 2021
Young people today face many challenges that previous generations did not. If your child has access to a phone or computer, they are at risk for being trafficked. Hyper-sexualized media and unrestricted access to porn and explicit content is the new sex-ed. Childhood sexual abuse is rampant. Smartphones, social networks, virtual reality and interactive games have not only captured the minds of our society, but have also made it easier for predators to access vulnerable children.
Education is the first step to protecting our children.
